Why “Fractal”
A fractal is a simple pattern repeated at every scale. That's how we like to build software: small, well-understood pieces that fit together the same way whether you're looking at a single function or the whole system. It keeps things easy to reason about as they grow.
What we work on
We take on a few projects at a time, usually with early-stage founders or product teams who need something built properly the first time. Most of the work falls into these areas:
- Cloud, edge, and DevOps infrastructure. Systems on Google Cloud and Cloudflare's edge (Workers, Durable Objects, and D1), containerized workloads on Kubernetes and Docker, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Backends, data pipelines, and background processing. High-throughput APIs (REST, GraphQL, and gRPC), analytics pipelines, and distributed task queues built with Python, Django, FastAPI, Celery, TypeScript, Rust, and Go—backed by PostgreSQL, Redis, and SQLite.
- Web platforms and custom e-commerce. Fast, accessible web apps and bespoke e-commerce platforms built with Vue.js, Nuxt, React, TanStack Start, and Tailwind CSS, engineered to stay quick when campaign traffic spikes.
- Applied AI and machine learning. Where it genuinely helps, we build LLM features, multi-step agentic workflows, search over your own data, and custom PyTorch models into the product.
- Live media and streaming. HLS pipelines, live streams stitched from on-demand files, HDR transcoding with FFmpeg and Shaka Packager, and keeping playback in sync across devices.
- Technical partner for new ventures. Acting as technical co-founder or lead engineer, from initial architecture and the first commit to a product people pay for.
How we think about software
We'd rather write plain code that anyone on the team can read and debug than pile on layers of abstraction. Systems should be easy to observe, behave predictably, and be easy to change.
You work directly with the people building your system, and we keep the focus on what the software is supposed to do for your business.
Get in touch
If you're starting something new, rebuilding a streaming setup, or need a backend that holds up under real traffic, we'd like to hear about it.
